Preorder transactions are used to pre-qualify the subscriber information before an actual order is created. This verification step reduces the number of errors involved in the order process.

DSET’s Pre-Order Gateway Products gives Service Providers such as CLECs the capability to automate preorder transactions with trading partners, such as AT&T, Verizon East/West, Qwest, Frontier, and Fairpoint. These pre-order transactions are the first phase of generating the orders – a Service Provider must send to an Incumbent Local Exchange Carrier (ILEC). This enables telecom services to be provisioned for customers who switch their service to the CLEC seamlessly.
Statistically, at least 40 percent of all orders are rejected by incumbent carriers because of incorrect information in the orders. For example, the most frequent cause for an order rejection is an incorrect service address. For a CLEC, order rejections results in increased overhead expenses, longer order-turnaround times, loss of potential revenue due to delays in service activation, and lower customer satisfaction.
DSET’s Pre-Order Gateway helps a CLEC’s service representatives obtain the correct information essential for the smooth processing of orders. Ninety present of all orders processed by CLEC’s are “migrate as is” orders.
PreOrder can perform transactions including retrieving CSRs also referred to as customer service information, or CSI, retrieval of MSAG, SAG, and on-line address validation; reserving telephone number; checking the availability of service appointments; xDSL loop qualification; verifying service and feature availability for a central office; obtaining loop make-up; and providing directory listings for customers.
