Coreon and DSET Accelerate Market Entry for Competitive Carriers

Bridgewater, NJ - September 5, 2000 - (Nasdaq: DSET) - DSET Corporation, a leading supplier of business-to-business e-commerce connectivity solutions for the telecom industry, announced today that Coreon, Inc., the nation's premier Operations Service Provider (OSP), will deploy DSET electronic-bonding solutions as part of its comprehensive network and operations support for competitive carriers. By hosting these operations services and providing the underlying in-house technical support expertise, Coreon accelerates the opportunities for competitive carriers to develop and introduce new products more quickly and efficiently, and in more markets, compared to the cost and time required to develop such capabilities themselves.

With offices in New York City and Fremont, California, Coreon offers carriers access to the complete suite of products that DSET provides for the telecom marketplace. Comparable to its unique DSET-supported operations services is Coreon's innovative billing and payment arrangement: Carriers using Coreon services are charged only on the number of customers that a carrier serves.

The DSET sales-productivity and loop-ordering products that Coreon will deploy include solutions for determining whether potential digital subscriber line (DSL) customers can receive this service at their locations and for ordering DSL circuits. Additionally, Coreon is installing DSET software to provide carriers with the most comprehensive range of carrier-to-carrier interconnection solutions.

"Our customers are looking to Coreon for ways to launch new services faster without the typical delays and expenses associated with developing a new operations support system (OSS) in-house or adapting a legacy OSS to the requirements of new services," said Ted Corbett, vice president of corporate development at Coreon. "With DSET, we have enhanced our ability to help those customers, whether emerging CLECs or existing carriers, with a ready-to-go suite of scalable, secure, multi-service OSSs that ensure highly professional management and execution of all 'back-end' operations."

"In partnering with Coreon, DSET is offering a new dimension of service to competitive carriers," said Phil Cavallo, DSET's senior vice president of worldwide sales and marketing. "In addition to avoiding substantial capital outlays for OSS deployment, new providers will be able to move quickly into the market on a 'pay as you grow' basis while benefiting from the proven capabilities of DSET products coupled with Coreon's support right from the start."
