ADC and DSET Team
to Offer Higher Level of Integrated Services for Competitive
Telecommunications Carriers
Agreement
Combines ADC's Integration Expertise
with DSET's Leading Telecom Software
MINNEAPOLIS--April 17, 2000--ADC (Nasdaq:
ADCT; www.adc.com)
today announced that it has signed an alliance agreement
with DSET Corporation (Nasdaq: DSET), a leading supplier
of business-to-business e-commerce connectivity solutions
for the telecommunications industry. Under the agreement,
ADC will provide DSET with comprehensive integration
services to deploy DSET's electronic-bonding solutions
to competitive local exchange carriers (CLECs) and data
local exchange carriers (DLECs), which are telecom providers
focused on non-voice applications.
The agreement, part of the DSET Alliance
Program, will bring exceptional value to customers by
speeding the deployment of telecommunications services
to the end user through the swift integration of operational
support system (OSS) components. Under the agreement,
ADC will provide the integration of DSET solutions into
the customer's OSS as well as testing and training for
the customer's operations support staff.
DSET's electronic bonding solutions
link the OSSs of telecom service providers in order
to automate critical aspects of turning on and maintaining
phone services to residential and business customers.
These functions include generating comparative sales
quotes; ordering local loops, DSL circuits, and special
high-capacity circuits; supporting 911, local number
portability, calling-card and caller ID services; changing
long-distance providers and correcting service problems.
"For all of our CLEC clients,
electronic bonding and automation of business processes
are fundamental to turning on revenue streams from new
customers. Our relationship with ADC will enable us
to meet this basic need with a winning combination of
DSET products and ADC's exceptional implementation expertise,"
said David Cole, director of the DSET Alliance Program.
Michael Smith, DSET's vice president
of customer satisfaction, added, "Outstanding software
products must be complemented by outstanding service
for getting those products up and running in a customer's
production environment. DSET's alliance with ADC greatly
expands our resources for providing such service, giving
our customers immediate access to all the assistance
they need to implement the many benefits of our solutions."
The agreement also leverages ADC's
expertise in other critical OSS functions such as billing
and customer care. Currently, ADC and DSET are teamed
together for the installation, integration and testing
of the DSET suite of applications along with the implementation
of an order management software package at a North Carolina-based
CLEC. This customer is also reviewing the performance
of Saville, ADC's billing application product line.
"We are pleased to enhance our suite of OSS offerings
with DSET and know that we will add tremendous value
to their customer base," said Steve Gordon, vice
president of marketing for ADC's Systems Integration
Division. "Our rapid implementation package of
services for OSS substantially minimizes the time and
resources that a CLEC has to expend to be in production."
