DSET Announces ASR Receive Gateway
Automatic Receive Capability
Speeds Provisioning of Services for More Telecom Providers
Bridgewater, NJ - February 8, 2001 - (Nasdaq: DSET) - DSET
Corporation announced today that a new version of its ezAccess
ASR gateway will be shipped at the end of the first quarter
of 2001. ezAccess 3.0 offers enhancements that extend the
gateway's utility to a more diverse group of telecom service
providers, including competitive local exchange carriers (CLECs),
incumbent local exchange carriers (ILECs), data local exchange
carriers (DLECs), carriers that wholesale transmission facilities
to other providers, and interexchange carriers (IXCs).
DSET's ezAccess 3.0 introduces an even greater degree of efficiency
and economy by making it possible for a service provider to
receive access service requests (ASRs) automatically, when
deployed in combination with the order management system offered
by a major DSET software partner. By providing full bi-directional
automation compliant with current industry-standard Access
Service Ordering Guidelines, ASOG 22, ezAccess 3.0 streamlines
the process of requesting bandwidth needed to provision special
access/transport and switched access services.
Previous versions of the ezAccess gateway eliminated the highly
manual procedure of sending ASR forms to trading partners
via faxes or e-mail. In addition to providing the ability
to receive ASRs, ezAccess 3.0 also eliminates the manual processing
of e-mail responses to trading partners related to the receipt
of an ASR. These responses can include firm order confirmations,
clarifications, requests, error notifications, and design
layout reports.
"Our ASR solution always had the ability to 'send' orders.
We can now help service providers who need to 'receive' orders
electronically," said Vera Helen Clements, DSET's ezAccess
product manager. "As a service provider's volume of ASRs increases,
their trading partners will become more and more reluctant
to process orders manually, creating an operations challenge
that demands an automated bi-directional solution. We are
pleased to announce that ezAccess 3.0 meets this challenge
with capabilities and efficiency essential for the continued
success of many competitive carriers."
