DSET Announces BusinessEdge to Partner
in Alliance Program
Agreement will help DSET Accelerate
Gateway Deployment
Bridgewater, NJ - January 10, 2000 - (NASDAQ: DSET) - DSET
Corporation, a leading supplier of business-to-business e-commerce
solutions for the telecom industry, and BusinessEdge Solutions,
Inc., a consulting firm with broad communications industry
expertise specializing in OSS strategy and integration, eBusiness
enablement, and strategic Information Technology (IT) services,
have signed an agreement under which BusinessEdge will offer
systems-integration services to DSET's competitive local exchange
carrier (CLEC) customers. Services to be provided by BusinessEdge
include installation of DSET solutions, testing, and project
management for establishing interconnection between a CLEC's
operations support system and appropriate systems at trading
partners such as incumbent carriers.
Being able to take advantage of the experience BusinessEdge
offers in optimizing operations and implementing telecom software
solutions will help CLECs quickly and cost-effectively deploy
DSET's family of solutions for automating critical pre-order,
ordering, and post-order functions. These functions include
providing sales quotes; ordering local loops and high-capacity
circuits; supporting 911, calling-card, and caller ID services;
changing long-distance providers; and trouble-ticket administration.
According to David Cole, director of DSET's Alliance Program,
"Demand for the company's gateways has led DSET to partner
with companies such as BusinessEdge so that CLECs can contract
with a systems integrator to quickly obtain a suite of services
that helps them to get their electronic-bonding gateways working
as soon as possible. Our Alliance Program will make these
services available through leading systems-integrator partners,
including BusinessEdge."
Cole went on to explain that the assistance available from
BusinessEdge will encompass the often complex technical aspects
of the exchange of information between CLECs and their trading
partners, which is basic to turning on and maintaining service
for a CLEC's customers. He said, "All of our systems-integrator
partners will be ready to assist with automating this critical
process."
"As a partner in DSET's Alliance Program, BusinessEdge
offers emerging CLECs integration solutions for rapid market
deployment. BusinessEdge understands the speed to market demands
and industry specific issues facing new carriers as they position
themselves in the marketplace," said Shailendra Jain,
managing partner of BusinessEdge Solutions. "By offering
partner solutions, such as the integration and project management
services provided by BusinessEdge, it's clear that DSET is
committed to providing a comprehensive and fully operational
suite of integrated services to their customers."
Michael Smith, DSET's vice president of customer satisfaction,
said that a new DSET training program for systems integrators
has also been introduced as part of the company's Alliance
Program. "We all bring special expertise to the task
at hand," he stated, "and this training is intended
to equip our partners with the detailed knowledge about DSET
solutions they will need to deliver the best possible service
to our CLEC customers."
Smith concluded, "It's our intention to join forces
with systems integrators that can handle all aspects of what
can be a very complex process. Our customers can thus be assured
that the integration of DSET gateways with a variety of operations
support systems and their trading partners will be accomplished
with the skill, speed, and economy that the marketplace demands."
