DALEEN AND DSET FORM STRATEGIC ALLIANCE
Companies announce agreement to provide comprehensive solutions for data and communications customers

BOCA RATON, Florida, July 19, 2000 - Daleen Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: DALN) and DSET Corporation (Nasdaq: DSET) announced today that they have signed a strategic alliance agreement under which the companies will engage in joint marketing, selling and other strategic activities targeting new and existing customers. The strategic alliance responds to the market's need for end-to-end solutions and will enable Daleen and DSET to offer customers a more comprehensive solution set.

As part of the strategic relationship, Daleen has granted DSET the exclusive distribution rights to license and resell the following electronic bonding gateways optimized for the Canadian market.

RequestFlowTM for automated composition and interchange of Local Service Requests (LSRs) and Access Service Requests (ASRs) between service providers as trading partners.

PicWareTM for flexible Primary Inter-exchange Carrier/Customer Account Record Exchange (PIC/CARE) that provides both local service and long distance providers with fully automated processing of their PIC orders and supporting transactions.

VoyagerTM for easily configurable Local Number Portability (LNP) that provides Service Order Administration (SOA) capabilities to facilitate streamlined porting of local numbers.

Through the alliance, DSET will broaden its product portfolio to provide customers in Canada with these products matched to Canadian technical standards. To serve customers in the Canadian market, DSET will also establish a subsidiary in Toronto, Canada. DSET and Daleen will work together to provide product enhancements, local technical support, installation, training and field engineering services. DSET will also introduce other existing OSS interconnection products to further penetrate the Canadian market, where Daleen has established a strong customer base.

Daleen's Canadian customers will benefit from this alliance through the strength and focus of DSET, the market leader in providing interconnection solutions for the telecom industry, together with Daleen's world-class eBusiness infrastructure solutions. This strategic alliance will enable Daleen and DSET together to leverage each other's business relationships to offer complementary capabilities for meeting the OSS and interconnection needs of service providers. As a part of the strategic relationship, DSET has also joined the Daleen Solution Partner (DSP) Program. This program is designed to deliver comprehensive integrated solutions to customers through the use of open standardized application programming interfaces (APIs), resulting in reduced time and costs typically associated with implementing an OSS solution.

"The relationship enables us to expand the value we can provide our joint customers. DSET is a leading gateway company and partnering with them provides customers with access to a wide variety of their gateway products for a more complete solution," said Jim Daleen, chairman and CEO for Daleen Technologies.

"We think that it's a great move for both companies. We will have opportunities to sell multiple products into a new geographical market for DSET, and Daleen's strong presence in the integrated communications provider, ASP and IP data markets will help us to expand our market presence," said Bill McHale, DSET's CEO and president.

DSET has been exploring the market opportunity for its electronic bonding gateway business in Canada and recognized that the interface standards in Canada warranted new product development efforts. The selection of the Daleen gateways for distribution in Canada is an attractive alternative to new internal development efforts and will provide DSET with critical time-to-market advantages over internal development. "Daleen, has spent over two years building the OSS Interconnection product line for the Canadian market, successfully achieving market leadership. This new alliance will position DSET, which has achieved gateway market leadership in the US, to enter the Canadian market with a running start and to capture the dominant position in Canada as well," said McHale.
