DSET Ships ezLocal 3.0.2 Ordering Gateway
Gives Competitive Service Providers New
Capabilities for Interconnection with Trading Partners
Bridgewater, NJ - November 28, 2000 - (Nasdaq: DSET) - DSET
Corporation, a leading supplier of solutions that enable competitive
telecom providers to build an automated Trading Partner Network,
is shipping a new release of its widely used ezLocal gateway,
which electronically interconnects competitive providers with
trading partners to automate ordering network facilities,
including digital subscriber line (DSL) circuits.
Enhancements offered by ezLocal 3.0.2 include the Interactive
Agent protocol, which expands the flexibility of ezLocal for
interconnecting competitive providers with trading partners
such as Pacific Bell, Qwest Communications, Southwestern Bell,
and Verizon. ezLocal 3.0.2 also supports the use of the Oracle8i
database and the Solaris 7 operating system from Sun
Microsystems.
The new ezLocal release extends additional support for LSOG
4 to the DSET solution's stand-alone order entry interface,
which enhances the gateway's utility for electronic interconnection
with BellSouth, GTE, the Verizon North Region, and the Verizon
South Region. LSOG is an acronym for Local Service Ordering
Guidelines, the set of voluntary guidelines that facilitates
the interconnection between competitive service providers
and trading partners that enables the competitive providers
to quickly turn on services for new customers migrating from
incumbent carriers. Support for LSOG 4 will also facilitate
provisioning xDSL service for competitive carriers interconnecting
with BellSouth.
In addition to offering a generic interface, ezLocal 3.0.2
is fully integrated with the latest version of MetaSolv Software,
Inc.'s (Nasdaq: MSLV) Telecom Business Solution (TBS)
order management and service fulfillment solution and with
CommTech Corporation's FastFlow® Order Fulfillment Suite
and FastFlow Service Activation Suite.
"DSET's ezLocal gateway clearly sets the standard for automated
ordering in the competitive telecom industry," said Paul Smith,
DSET's senior vice president of strategic planning and product
management. "Deployed by competitive service providers across
the U.S., ezLocal enables interconnection with virtually any
trading partner. ezLocal is tightly integrated with the latest
industry standards and offers features to meet the needs of
all providers in the market, ranging from facilities-based
wireline voice and data providers to resellers operating completely
in UNE-P mode, wireless providers, and companies specializing
in telecom services for individual buildings."
