DSET Announces ezPreOrder 1.2.1

New Version of Pre-order Gateway Offers Automated Receive Capability

Bridgewater, NJ - August 8, 2001 - (Nasdaq: DSET) - DSET Corporation today announced the shipment of a new version of its ezPreOrder electronic-bonding gateway. ezPreOrder 1.2.1 offers automated receive capability for incumbent carriers, along with a generic interface to facilitate interconnection between competitive service providers and the incumbents.

ezPreOrder, which has been deployed by multiple carriers, automates the first phase of transitioning customers to competitive providers from trading partners. The pre-order transactions performed determine service availability and support the correct completion of orders sent to trading partners, considerably reducing order turn-around intervals and operational costs. With the addition of receive capability, ezPreOrder can now be used by incumbent carriers to streamline the processing of inquiries sent to them by competitive providers.

ezPreOrder automates a wide range of pre-order functions in both send and receive modes, including the retrieval of customer service information (CSI) from incumbents, address validation, telephone-number reservation, and xDSL loop qualification. For a competitive provider, validating service addresses before sending orders to a trading partner eliminates a major cause of order rejection and costly reprocessing.

"The latest version of our ezPreOrder gateway expands the utility of this product for incumbent as well as competitive service providers, joining our LSR and ASR ordering solutions in offering both send and receive capability," said Michael McLaughlin, DSET's director of product management. "As ezPreOrder 1.2.1 shows, our vigorous product-development program is focused on giving all carriers the key electronic-bonding capabilities they need to operate successfully in the telecom environment that has emerged over the past year."
