IDC Cites Success of DSET's Alliance Program

International IT Research Firm Names DSET a "Winner" in Building Essential Industry Relationships

Bridgewater, NJ - June 28, 2001 - (Nasdaq: DSET) - DSET Corporation announced today that it has been cited for the effectiveness of its industry alliance efforts in a recent study issued by IDC, a prominent international IT research and consulting company. The title of the study is "Strategic Alliances 2001: Winners, Innovators, and the Next Generation."

Alliances among complementary companies are viewed as one of the keys to success in today's market climate. And although the study states that less than 50% of alliance managers surveyed felt their alliances were meeting initial expectations, there are a number of examples of successful strategic software alliances employing leading alliance best practices. DSET is profiled in the report's "Winner" category along with Commerce One and IBM as an example of an organization that has been especially successful in establishing mutually beneficial relationships with alliance partners.

"These companies have demonstrated what can be achieved when senior executives at both alliance partners champion the relationship as a key business strategy," said Nicole Gallant, strategic software alliances analyst at IDC and author of the report. "IDC research shows that resources and management infrastructure are key factors in successful alliances, and senior-executive alliance 'converts' play a key role in the internal resources allocated for alliance management and implementation. Successful alliances don't just happen - they need planning. These companies 'get it'."

"IDC's report is one more validation of our strategy for partnering with other industry leaders to expand the utility and accessibility of DSET's software solutions," said John Scheifele, director of strategic alliances at DSET. "These relationships enable us to offer the capabilities of DSET products to more customers in more diverse markets, and to do so at significantly lower cost to users."
