DSET Announces General Availability of IPSource
2.2.1
Includes real-time and error-free MPLS
IP VPN Service Provisioning and Fully Supports Configuration
Management
SHREWSBURY, N.J. June 29, 2002-DSET Corp., (NASDAQ: DSET)
the industry's premier source of electronic bonding gateways
and OSS solutions for global, multi-vendor networks, announced
today the general availability of its previously announced
IPSourceä 2.2, Release 1. IPSource 2.2.1 is the latest release
of the company's innovative and high performance IP provisioning,
activation, configuration and management platform that empowers
service providers to roll-out new services to customers quickly,
reliably and profitably.
IPSource provides integrated quality of service support for
real-time and error-free Layer 3 MPLS IP VPN service provisioning.
This work-flow based product provides end-to-end automation
capabilities ranging from managing a service order/request
to assigning resources and activating devices on the network,
all in a flow-through and error-free manner.
"This latest release of IPSource offers the greatest degree
of automation for provisioning, activation and configuration,
which can translate into significant reductions in a provider's
operating costs," said Dr. Binay Sugla, president and CEO
of DSET. "We are very excited about the prospects of IPSource
now that it is available in the market."
IPSource provides the capability to automate the management
of device configuration. With IPSource, provider edge (PE)
and customer edge (CE) routers are automatically configured
in a flow-through manner. Configuration management capabilities
include: versioning, backup and restore, as well as detecting
changes to network configuration. Providers also can configure
the network infrastructure, including Multiprotocol Label
Switching Provisioning (LSP) needed for MPLS-Traffic Engineering
(TE).
With IPSource, service orders are validated to ensure accuracy
and resource allocation is carried out automatically as part
of the service provisioning process. Features also include
GUI-based support for reconciliation of VPN data and the capability
to create and save partial VPN orders. IPSource also supports
visualization of VPN.
This latest release of IPSource lets service providers generate
increased revenue by defining services tailored to meet their
customers' specific requirements. Service providers can customize
the pre-defined IP service modules on the IPSource platform
to create "branded" service offerings with features they choose
to include. For example, quality of service (QoS) capabilities
can be optionally integrated into offerings based on the way
service providers choose to define their IP VPN services.
IPSource supports multi-vendor networks, enabling providers
to meet customers' service requirements without the constraints
of how a particular network equipment vendor defines key operating
parameters that are difficult and costly to modify. The end-to-end
provisioning, activation and configuration capabilities offered
by IPSource also provides dramatic savings in overhead costs
since providers can introduce and maintain services with a
reduced IT staff, with minimal training required.
IPSource 2.2, Release 1 will be deployed in August in a customer
trial with a major Tier-1 carrier. The general availability
of Release 2 of IPSource 2.2, which includes enhancements
to IPSec support for a VPN across multi-vendor devices and
other exciting new features, is expected by the end of the
year.
