NETtel Automates Key Business
Processes with DSET E-Commerce Solutions
Bridgewater, NJ - April 12, 2000 - (NASDAQ: DSET) - DSET
Corporation, a leading supplier of business-to-business e-commerce
connectivity solutions for the telecom industry, announced
today that NETtel Communications, Inc. has purchased DSET
electronic-bonding gateways to automate the ordering of local
loops and high-capacity circuits and to support enhanced 911
service. Based in Washington, D.C., NETtel is a nationwide
facilities-based broadband integrated communications provider
(ICP) focused on the mid-sized business segment.
NETtel will use DSET's ezLocal and ezAccess ordering gateways
to interconnect with Pacific Bell, Ameritech, and the Bell
Atlantic North Region. The DSET ez911 gateway will facilitate
enhanced 911 service for NETtel's customers by interconnecting
the competitive carrier with SCC Communications, a national
911 service bureau. The ez911 gateway automates the exchange
of information critical to routing 911 calls so that NETtel
customers can obtain appropriate assistance from police, fire,
or ambulance services as quickly as possible.
The deployment of DSET's ezLocal and ezAccess gateways will
automate and accelerate the processes associated with turning
on services for new NETtel customers by enabling application-to-application
interconnection between NETtel and its trading partners. Automating
what are otherwise manually intensive activities will allow
NETtel to make much more efficient use of human, technical,
and economic resources. This will facilitate the ordering
of special high-capacity circuits as well as access to local
phone service for customers in the markets that NETtel is
targeting.
"The suite of services offered by DSET gives us the
competitive advantage we need to insure our customers are
connected quickly," said Jonathan Ebinger, vice president
of product marketing. "We chose the best provider to
help us meet the demands of the business marketplace."
"Across the U.S., DSET is helping a growing number of
competitive carriers like NETtel provide local phone service
and create the most value for business customers and other
consumers," said Phil Cavallo, DSET's senior vice president
of worldwide sales and marketing. "DSET gateway solutions
are ideally suited to facilitating a full spectrum of telecom
services by interconnecting providers, including ISPs and
data-only CLECs, with trading partners in every part of the
country."
