NewSouth Communications To
Deploy Five DSET Gateway Solutions
Bridgewater, NJ - August 15, 2000 - (Nasdaq: DSET) - DSET
Corporation, a leading supplier of business-to-business e-commerce
connectivity solutions for the telecom industry, announced
today that NewSouth Communications has purchased a suite of
DSET gateways to automate virtually every aspect of migrating
customers to the integrated communications provider (ICP)
based in Greenville, South Carolina. The DSET gateways will
enable electronic bonding with NewSouth trading partners that
currently include BellSouth, GTE, and Sprint.
NewSouth will deploy DSET solutions to facilitate ordering
local loops as well as high-capacity circuits, and to support
local number portability, 911 service, and calling card service
for their growing customer base in the southern U.S. In addition,
the company will install a DSET gateway to speed the resolution
of trouble tickets requiring the exchange of information with
trading partners. The DSET ordering solutions will be integrated
with MetaSolv Software, Inc.'s (Nasdaq: MSLV) Telecom Business
Solution (TBS) order management and service fulfillment
solution.
"The combination of DSET gateways and MetaSolv's TBS solution
allow us to more efficiently exchange information and share
network capabilities with our trading partners," said Michael
LaFrance, president and chief executive officer for NewSouth.
"The high demands of our fast-growing ICP require us to select
providers with industry experience and a proven track record.
The team at DSET has shown us they are dedicated to providing
the best products and services available in the market."
"The DSET gateways selected by NewSouth, along with MetaSolv's
TBS, will enable comprehensive flow-through processing capabilities,"
said Phil Cavallo, DSET's senior vice president of worldwide
sales and marketing. "The fact that NewSouth is deploying
DSET solutions across its nine-state operating region speaks
highly of DSET's strength in turning up new competitive carriers
with BellSouth as a trading partner. The combination of DSET
and MetaSolv solutions has also become the choice of the majority
of carriers looking to rapidly turn on service in new markets."
