DSET and Vitria Partner to Deliver ebusiness Solution for DSL Industry

Combined Solution Speeds Delivery of Internet-based Communications Services to Businesses and Consumers

The combination of DSET's OSS gateway technology and Vitria's BusinessWare® ebusiness platform marks the next phase in the companies' joint efforts to give competitive telecommunications providers the ability to implement flow-through automation of business processes such as ordering and provisioning local loops, pre-qualifying loops for DSL service, and trouble-ticket management. DSET and Vitria initiated their alliance by building connectors between their respective technologies earlier this year.

Under the agreement, DSET will now offer DSL providers a complete solution with interfaces between its electronic-bonding gateways and BusinessWare, an out-of-the-box solution for integrating and automating business processes across the extended enterprise. BusinessWare allows process models to be created and deployed to automate and manage mission-critical ebusiness interactions among supply-chain partners, including data local exchange carriers (DLECs), aggregators, and Internet service providers (ISPs).

The integrated DSET and BusinessWare product also extends automation of the DSL supply chain all the way to incumbent local exchange carriers (ILECs). Such automation eliminates manually intensive activities that are time-consuming and prone to errors, factors that can delay turning on DSL service for end-users and impact the quality of service.
